Christmas Wedding Candy Canes
Use for Wedding Favor or Centerpiece

needed:
Velvet
Ribbon
Candy
Canes
Hole Punch
Cut the velvet ribbon
into 24 inch strips, and punched holes 1 inch apart along one side.
Then weave the candy
canes through the holes. It is a classy Christmas wedding favor.
For Centerpiece
Arrange several inside a wine glass or glass bowl
add round peppermint candy to center
Tie red velvet ribbon around bowl or wine glass stem


Homemade Candy Canes Recipe
Experiment with your favorite flavors. Your do need to work quickly to form
the candy. You can make any shape your desired.
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
4 drops oil of peppermint or other flavoring
4 drops red or green food coloring
Grease a hard surface.
Simmer the sugar, corn syrup, water and cream of tartar until the mix reaches
the soft crack stage or about 280° on a candy thermometer. Remove from the
heat and stir in the flavoring.
Divide the syrup in half. Add food coloring to one half.
Pour out each mixture separately onto the greased surface.
Let cool for 1 to 2 minutes.
Working with each half separately roll into 1/2" thick ropes.
Twist the colored batch around the white batch pulling until the colors adhere.
Cut with scissors to 6" long lengths then bend one end into the "cane".
